The Bank of England and Inspire People are partnering together to attract a high-calibre Lead Solution Architect with a solid track record of creating and managing high-level design, on complex large-scale projects. You will be responsible for translating business strategic goals and objectives into supporting enterprise-wide technology strategies. Up to circa £87,750 basic plus excellent benefits including a 8% cash benefits allowance and 10%-25% bonus. Hybrid working opportunities are available with 2 days a week working from the Bank's London site. 21 Months Fixed Term Contract.

As a Lead Solution Architect within the Bank, typical role responsibilities include:

  • Taking a leading role on programmes and projects, understanding business imperatives and developing solutions that deliver against the requirements aligned to business and technology strategies
  • Responsible for understanding the technology estate and strategic direction to develop architecture and roadmaps with a focus on re-use, rationalisation, simplification and decommissioning
  • Responsible for designing and producing architectural artefacts for end-to-end solutions, baseline and target architectures, solution blueprints, including high-level design, technical options that are aligned to architecture standards, principles and patterns taking into consideration the impact to the enterprise, technology and business.

Essential Skills and Experience as a Solutions Architect:

  • Experience as an architect on large scale, complex technology projects, designing platforms, products, systems and components.
  • Experience in architecture planning for large initiatives/programmes, developing architecture blueprint, high level design and implementation of the following aspects of solution architecture: Services, Applications, Integration, Technology, Security and Data
  • Experience of working with and across multiple methodologies and technologies to ensure delivery of critical projects and programmes.

As well as the above core skills, we are looking to engage with candidates to work on one of five different Bank initiatives, depending on your following additional skills:

  • CRM, Integration API, MS Azure, MS SQL Data Warehousing, XBRL taxonomies, Data Collection systems & Data lifecycle management
  • Integration - MQ, API's, SWIFT, .Net Development, Portal Development, MS SQL Data Warehousing, Auction Systems, Trading platforms, Straight Thru processing, & FixML
  • Tender development, SWIFT and CREST, Trading, & Collateral Management
  • Integration API, MS Azure, MS SQL Data Warehousing, XBRL taxonomies, Data Collection systems &Data lifecycle management
  • Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Elastic Search, Data lifecycle management & Data Sourcing (Bloomberg, Reuters, ONS etc.).
