About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead ServiceNow Developer to join our Technical Operations team here at NFU Mutual. You’ll play a leading role in the ongoing development of the platform, acting as a subject matter expert and support our team of ServiceNow Developers with technical queries. As the Lead ServiceNow Developer, you’ll offer guidance to the development team, allowing development work to progress quicker with more agility.

In this role, you’ll be leading on technical authority and the design of development work, assisting with the governance and the security of the platform. You’ll be responsible for the general maintenance of the software, performing health scans and leading on the delivery of subsequent recommendations.

You’ll play a leading role in defining standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring the team continues to be in line with best practice. As part of our purpose-built team, you’ll work to ensure that technical components are fit for purpose and meet our agreed business and system requirements. As the Lead ServiceNow Developer, you’ll have opportunities to be involved in high-profile development projects that meet the needs and expectations of both our organisation and our customers.

About you

As a Lead ServiceNow Developer, you’ll have experience as a ServiceNow subject matter expert with the ability to lead, coach and mentor the ServiceNow development team. You’ll have ITIL awareness and experience working with senior stakeholders and possess strong problem analysis and analytical skills. You’ll have experience leading on implementation projects and integrations with third parties and have experience integrating ServiceNow with other applications and vendors.

Possessing the ServiceNow Implementation Specialist, ServiceNow Developer and ServiceNow Administrator certifications is essential. You’ll also have:

  • Meaningful, relevant, and demonstrable experience of ServiceNow software development (essential).
  • A broad knowledge of ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM and SPM demonstrating a well-rounded view of platform capability.
  • Process and solution designing as well as integration and discovery, including an understanding of workflow design/configuration.
  • Ability to define QA processes and manage a Technical Authority steering group.
  • Experience in a Financial services, insurance, investments and/or pensions environment (desirable)
