Darlington - fully remote
£25 per hour (umbrella)
Part Time Contract (3 months)

Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Lawyer specialising in contracts in Darlington. This is a contract without a scope for extension working part time hours. The employer can offer fully remote working

The job:

  • To advise on, draft and amend agreements, contracts and other legal documents
  • To advise on procurement procedure and issues and draft or amend relevant documentation
  • To deal with company and commercial matters, including companies searches, formation, responsibilities, local authority trading, partnerships, joint ventures and other arrangements with outside bodies.
  • To advise on issues relating to contractual and procurement disputes and any litigation that arises and to work jointly with colleagues in dealing with such litigation
  • To keep under review, research and advise on factual and legal matters (including the impact of new legislation and cases) so far as it relates to the job purpose


The candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Fellow of Institute of Legal Executives or a Licensed Conveyancer with a current practising certificate and with rights of audience
  • Approximately 2 years post qualified working knowledge/ experience of a) advising about and drafting contracts and agreements and b) Dealing with company formations, company law and commercial matters
  • Knowledge of procurement and relevant issues
  • Experience of litigation, attending hearings, panels, tribunals or courts is desirable
  • Knowledge of conveyancing, commercial property and other land and property matters is desirable
