Our market leading Homes & Place standard defines the quality, connectivity and route to net-zero approach for the homes we will provide across southern England over the coming years and allows us to truly place our customers at the heart of everything we do.

We'll be delivering some of the best places to live.  From large-scale town-centre regeneration to rural exception sites, from joint-ventures with major housebuilders to securing land and building our own self-designed house-types that redefine sector standards for space, light, and adaptability.

We have an opening for a Land Manager based out of our Bristol offices with the flexibility for agile working from home. There will also be a requirement for occasional travel.

What you'll be doing

As a Land Manager with SNG you'll primarily be delivering existing schemes and sourcing a sustainable pipeline of sites to deliver great quality developments.  Supporting the Senior Land Manager, this role will also focus on progressing redevelopment opportunities identified in our strategic asset management strategy.

This opportunity will involve:

  • Co-ordinating project teams to develop option appraisals, securing board approvals and monitoring budgets in line with governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with a network of agents, landowners, promoters and other vendors and partners, identifying and progressing suitable development opportunities
  • Providing accurate project reports with a focus on proposed solutions to mitigate potential deterioration in time, cost and quality outcomes.
  • Managing the new business and bidding process for public sector development and joint venture development bids
  • Controlling the appraisal process, working alongside the development, commercial, planning and technical teams, guiding developments through the pre-application and planning process
  • Effecting the smooth transition of sites to the Development team at the appropriate stage, ensuring continuity of knowledge and strategies through to the construction phase

What we need from you:

  • Significant experience in a similar role, working within a Land Acquisition team, purchasing and delivering multiple sites for a private or public organisation.
  • You'll have a track record in directly assembling a land portfolio for a Regional Housebuilding Business of similar or greater scale.
  • A solid network of relationships with land vendors, agents and other stakeholders across the operating geography
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with experience communicating with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in networking and building relationships within the property development sector.
  • An understanding of planning policy, maintaining up to date knowledge of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPFF) and have an awareness of relevant Local Authority Neighbourhood and Local Plans

There will be a requirement to travel from time to time in this role so you should have a full UK licence and access to your own transport.

We have an ambitious corporate plan to deliver an inspiring agenda of change and growth in a sustainable way. What we do makes a real difference to people's lives and by joining us you can share the satisfaction of doing something that really matters.
