Laboratory Operative

Basingstoke

£11.44ph

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm Early finish Friday 2.30pm.

On-going temporary role

We are currently recruiting for a Lab Operative to work in Basingstoke. No previous experience for this position is required. If you have studied or worked within a science field that would be beneficial, but not essential. Due to the nature of the business you will need to be aged over 18 and be able to repeatedly lift 10kg boxes.

  • To resupply/order consumables
  • To prepare stock plates and media
  • To assist in maintenance of all stock cultures
  • To notify the engineering Dept and line management of equipment faults
  • To provide support for the Curator
  • To wash all laboratory glassware by hand or dishwasher
  • To ensure the laundry is maintained for all laboratories
  • To ensure the laboratory personnel are provided with pre-specified consumables on a weekly basis e.g. agar plates, Petri-dishes, glassware, etc.
  • Alerting the QC Team Leader/ Lead Scientist of potential problems/failures
