Five Education is working with a post-16 special school based near Shirehampton that requires support staff to work with them on a full-time basis. Students at this school have severe learning difficulties and complex needs, so experience working in this setting would be a big advantage.

This position is to start ASAP and will last until the end of the school year.

Responsibilities Include:
Supporting students with severe and complex needs inside and outside of the classroom
Assisting students to access their modified curriculum
Using communication methods such as Makaton and PECS
Working with the class teacher to coach students with life skills and independence
Acting as a positive role model in the classroom and around the school

Essential Criteria:
Previous experience supporting/ working with children with special needs
Previous experience supporting students in an educational setting
Knowledge of communication methods such as Makton and PECS
Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks
Able to work 8.30-3.30 5 days per week term time only

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employers NI. We are also proud to be an accredited Living Wage employer. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
