Enthusiastic teaching assistant or youth worker required for a long term job in Bromsgrove / Birmingham
Hays Education are working in partnership with a school on the border of Bromsgrove and Birmingham in order to recruit for an enthusiastic and experienced youth worker to support within the year 8 classes for the remainder of the academic year.
This small and close knit middle school focuses on providing a safe environment in which each child is valued as an individual and is offered acceptance and security in order to develop their potential. The school aim to create a caring and happy community in which children are offered a rich learning environment where they can achieve the highest possible standards. This school works hard to develop positive home and school links in order to guarantee each student is offered a curriculum best suited to their individual needs.
This vacancy has arisen due to an increase in need to support the KS3 cohort. This school are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and creative individual to work on a 1 to 1 basis and occasionally in small groups with a student who is following an alternative curriculum with a STEM focus. The ideal candidate for this role will have some previous experience of working with disaffected students and will have a proven record of re-engaging students and having a positive impact on learning.
No formal qualifications are required for this role as the key skills needed for this position are passion and enthusiasm towards working with children. However, it is essential that you have a minimum of 3 months experience working with young people aged 8-13.

This role is offered on a 25 hour contract over 5 days. The official timetable is yet to be confirmed but there may be some flexibility on the hours that are required for the right candidate.
