Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children in the Key Stage 2 (KS2) phase? Do you possess the skills and dedication to support students in their academic and personal development? If so, we invite you to join our team at Accelerate Teaching for a Primary School in Wakefield as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant (TA) in KS2.

Responsibilities:

As an integral member of our team, you will be working with KS2 pupils across the junior setting of this primary school, providing essential support to enhance engagement and overall development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with class teachers to create inclusive and stimulating learning environments.
  • Assisting in the implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEN.
  • Providing targeted support to pupils, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, to address specific learning needs.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, and communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils in a school setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the development of children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • The ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students and employ various strategies to enhance engagement.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Special Education or Teaching Assistance are desirable.
  • A valid DBS check and necessary clearances to work in an educational setting.
