Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant who is a fast learner with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions, is required for a Schools Trust, based in Leicester, Leicestershire.

FULL TRAINING PROVIDED - Whilst kitchen experience is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate

SALARY: £12.00 per hour

LOCATION: Leicester, Leicestershire (LE5)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistantwho is a fast learner with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions.

As the Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant you will support the kitchen and food & beverage teams ensuring all kitchen areas are clean and tidy, and all crockery and cutlery is prepared to ensure smooth running of the service.

Working as the Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant you will help the team provide a positive dining experience for their guests.

The catering service is all about precise, beautifully designed and nourishing menus. They cater for a healthy vegetarian diet, and provide food that is good for the body, mind and soul. Feel good food that genuinely uplifts you, the catering service currently provide over 4000 meals daily nationwide and support over 9 schools. Their menus are designed by nutritional experts who understand the blend between satisfying children’s tastes and providing them with essential food types for their growth and development.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant will include:

• Daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, staff canteens and kitchen corridors

• Washing of all kitchen equipment for the chefs and all crockery and cutlery for the restaurant service staff

• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean during service times and that all walk through areas are kept clear of any obstruction and that floors are kept dry

• Communicate effectively with all staff

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment

• Ability to follow strict instructions in a systematic and consistent manner

• Whilst kitchen experience is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate
