So, what will the role of Junior Software Developer entail?

You will join a busy development team where you will be responsible for the maintenance, design and implementation of the company’s payments products. The team is responsible for producing and supporting some of the largest UK banks direct debit processing systems along with many large private UK businesses. Duties will include;

  • Producing software that meets pre-defined requirements and quality standards
  • Working to defined project plans and timescales and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Understanding and solving complex software problems
  • Working in accordance with defined software development policy
  • Participating in out of hours scheduled maintenance

What will I need to be considered for this Junior Software Developer role?

  • Good knowledge and/or experience of software development and designing systems
  • A degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Knowledge of software development processes and tools
  • Good analytical skills
  • Fantastic investigative skills
  • Superb communication skills
  • Excellent when working in a team but also able to work independently

Although not essential, technical knowledge of Python, Django, JavaScript/Ajax, SQL, internet protocols, web standards, and operating systems and hardware, networking, version control, unit testing, and cloud technology is highly desired.
