Quantity Surveyor 

Pertemps are pleased to be working with a top Fire and Secuirty company. They are currently expanding and are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Essex.  They offer competitive packages + benefits.

Looking to recruit an experienced Junior QS to be based within their busy, vibrant Commercial Fire Systems office in Essex. Working alongside the operations staff and with the guidance of the Senior QS, Commercial Manager and Operations Director, you will be the connection between the clients QS, finance teams and site teams and the internal teams.

You will undertake site visits as required in order to ascertain progress and inform our operational and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agreement of interim payment amounts with clients, monitoring when payments notices are due/received/outstanding.
  • Preparing project budgets in conjunction with the Contracts Managers and Operations Director
  • Monitoring budgets against costs and projections on a monthly basis.
  • Sending subcontractor enquiries, analysing quotations, placement of orders, interim payments & agreement of subcontractor final accounts
  • Ensuring that the company fulfil all  contractual obligations
  • Advising contracts managers regarding all commercial matters (variations, delays etc.) and ensuring that they are identified and recorded.
  • Assist contracts managers in the preparation of contractual notices
  • Site visits are essential to monitor for possible variations and similar matters and ensure that site records are produced.
  • Maintain good relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues.
  • Work experience within a surveying or construction management role
  • Understanding of the JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar
  • Quantity surveying degree or professional qualifications
  • Excellent IT skills (particularly Microsoft Excel)
  • Experience of producing and monitoring project budgets
  • Experience of monitoring when payments are due/received/outstanding
  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
