The System Engineer will participate in the design, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and support of global networking and voice infrastructure services.Administers standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with corporate and customer objectives to improve system availability, reliability, recoverability, and manageability.Be a key contributor to global strategic and operational IT projects. There are number of projects already identified, with more to follow. These are the short-term ones:

- Data Centre consolidation, from two into one.

- Avaya phone migration to Cisco platform.

- Network redesign/alterations

- AD Integration

Key Responsibilities

·Participate in the planning, design, installation, monitoring, and support of companies global networking platforms, infrastructure and voice services.

·Participate in all phases of system engineering, including design, analysis, and modeling at a highly technical level; analyze complex computer system requirements to provide integration and implementation support.

·Provides technical expertise in the management of public and/or private networks; tests and analyzes network facilities, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers.

·Continually improves service with close attention to capacity on LANs and/or WANs; evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades as part of maintenance and keeping with IT Security best practice.

Skills required

·Hands on knowledge of Cisco IOS routing, switching, DMPVN and voice services with previous root level access and comfort with debug investigation and deployment of changes.

·Experience engaging different service providers of MPLS, Internet, SIP, PSTN and Data Center service with incidents, degradation of service and escalations.

·Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new technologies, tools, and applications related to job.

·Creative approach to problem solving

·Happy to help with 2nd level desktop support, desk moves and other ad-hoc duties

·Ability to lift up to 40 lbs/18kg

You will work closely with the COO, IT Director and IT Manager. Also working alongside two other Engineers who will help you with the projects and BAU work.
