IT System Engineer 12 months FTC

This is a real all-rounder Infrastructure role, working for a well-known retail brand in Nottingham. The key focus of the role will be to provide top-to-bottom IT support, maintenance, and development to the business’ Infrastructure, at the head office and across various branches.

Location: NG11, hybrid basis

Duration: 12 month fixed-term contract

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (hourly equivalent)

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and control all Infrastructure across the business
• Acting as the point of escalation to 2nd Line Support, following ITIL guidelines
• Providing extensive 3rd Line support for all the business’ physical and virtual IT assets
• Use of ManageEngine, facilitating the logging and managing of problems and incidents
• Use of Bitdefender to protect all IT user endpoints and applications from security breaches
• Support, implementation and development of software applications
• Design and implement network solutions to improve the efficiency of current networks (LAN & WAN)
• Support physical devices e.g. Cabling and servers
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors
• Involvement in IT projects
• Monitoring of systems
• Managing the company’s Cloud environment and Management strategy
• Ensure compliance against all control standards
• Provide budgetary information

ABOUT YOU / EXPERIENCE IN

• Experienced in a similar IT infrastructure environment
• Project management would be desirable
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Datacentre migrations
• Cisco Certified Network Profession (desirable)
• Cloud management
• Linux/Unix Administration
• Office365, Active Directory, Windows, SAP, SQL Server
