IT Support Analyst (Apprentice)

What does the role involve?
We are looking for an IT Apprentice to assist with the provision of general support to all users and to carry out basic system administration duties. You will work towards providing an outstanding service to principal(s) across the firm, utilising the technology and support functions to their best effect and working within the firm's core values. This is a 12 month fixed term contract and whilst working in the role you will be studying a relevant IT qualification.

Main duties and responsibilities

o Backup media - unpack, storing on site and archiving off site.

o Monitoring consumable stock levels and advising office managers when it needs replenishing.

o Receiving deliveries and storing; updating stock control software and informing the IT manager when goods have been received.

o Backup tape rotation on a daily basis.

o Ensuring equipment is stored correctly in the IT store build room.

o Pool equipment setup and maintenance.

o Entering new kit into asset register.

o Primarily kit builds - image application and asset management - send to other sites, liaising closely with on site IT managers.

o Kit installation on users desks

o Printer labelling - name and trays.

o Testing equipment - phones, speech mikes, PC's, laptops and headsets.

o Hardware upgrades/maintenance - changing drives for SSD's, memory upgrades.

o Kit disposal - wiping drives.

o Meeting room setup (and checking network connections etc). Testing VC, media presentation IT equipment (daily).

o Basic patching. Replacing broken network cables / power to desks. Tidying up desk areas where cabling is messy.

Who will I be working with?
We have an IT team in our Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Manchester and Norwich offices. The team in Norwich consists of an IT Support Manager, IT Applications Manager, IT Applications Analyst, IT Infrastructure Engineer and two IT Support Analysts. You will report to the IT Support Manager.

What experience is required?
No previous experience in IT is required, but you will have previous experience of working in a busy team environment and have an interest in IT. You will also have six GCSEs Grade C and above (including Maths and English) or the equivalent.
