Our client is a small but highly successful IT support services company supportinga diverse range of clients in the Berkshire area. Due to busienss growth they now need a new IT Support Engineer in their team of 6.
You will be responsible for taking and logging issues by phone, web and email and will be tasked with resolving these issues to the satisfaction of the customer, or escalating it to 2nd line support and tracking the issue till it is resolved, using state of the art IT Management software.
You will provide proactive hardware, software and peripheral maintenance in addition to building, installing, configuring and supporting workstations, laptops and other associated devices and peripherals.
To be considered for this position, you must have at a minimum, 5 GCSEs at grade A-C, including Maths and English. You must also have customer service experience and be fully IT literate. Ideally you will have achieved one or more formal IT qualifications and be able to demonstrate your enthusiasm for technology and a clear understanding of current IT systems.
The position requires a high degree of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues is essential.
You must be analytical with good problem solving skills and have the ability to benefit from both formal, and on the job training. Subject to a successful three month probationary period you will be considered for further training on external courses, appropriate to the requirements of the company and the further development of you own particular skills, and which will lead to further formal industry qualifications.
You will require a clean driving licence and your own vehicle for which you will receive a mileage allowance when used on company business.
