JOB TITLE: IT Project Engineer

SALARY:£35,000 - £50,000

SETTING: Office based – some customer sites

Our client is looking for an experienced IT Projects Engineer, this is a good step up from a support level role, or an IT Manager who enjoys project delivery with a hands-on technical approach. This will be working within Service Delivery, this Customer facing role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery, technical design, configuration, and implementation of IT services, from pre-sales to delivery.

JOB SPECIFICATION:  IT Project Engineer

As an IT Project Engineer you will take complete ownership of IT projects and oversee communication with the customer at every stage. Perform engineering for implementation, onboarding, migration, and setup for customer IT projects. Provide end-user training for newly installed systems and software.

• Conduct site surveys and assist with scoping ahead of IT projects.
• Scheduling work with customers and members of the engineering team appropriately.
• Follow or create project Statement of Works and ensure all is delivered as scoped.
• To provide technical support to other team members when required.
• To step in and assist or complete Pre-Sales activities, including customer meetings when required.
• To fully document process and delivery.
• To be the lead on finding and implanting new and better ways of working.
• Site visits to complete installation and surveys when required.
• Ensure your Projects are delivered to the highest technical standard, working, demonstrated, and
• trained out to your Primary contact and their wider team.
• Be personally responsible for all aspects of the Project delivery including technical set up,
• communication, documentation, and any snagging issues.

REQUIREMENTS: IT Project Engineer

The ideal candidate will have a high level of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server knowledge, with expertise in Microsoft 365 products and solutions. Experience in using VMware vCenter and ESXi will also be useful. Other ideals will be:

• Migration of mail and file systems.
• Setup of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
• Deployment and Implementation of Antivirus, EDR and security software.
• Deployment and Implementation of RMM systems.
• Setup and testing of cloud backup software.
• CCNA-level Networking capabilities.
• Routing and Firewall setup and configuration.
• Experience in using and configuring SQL server.
