IT Network & Security Engineer - Hybrid Working

IT Network & Systems Engineer with strong networking and IT Security experience around Firewalls, LAN / WAN, routing & switching is required by a leading company based in Cardiff.

The role would be hybrid working, with 2 days at home and 3 days in the office.

You should have the following experience:

• Networking experience in relevant LAN / WAN, routing and switching technologies including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, VRF, Linux etc
• Firewalls & Networking troubleshooting skills
• Cyber Security knowledge
• Ideally some experience in overseeing IT security policies and systems, including ISO 27001
• Experience in installing, configuring and managing virtualisation technologies, such as VMware vCenter or Citrix would be bonus

The duties include:

• Manage the organisation's IT and networking services & systems architecture
• Work with the Information Security team, to ensure the security of data, networks, and backup systems.
• Project manage the hardware and software configuration
• Provide updates on the monthly Cyber Security focus, phishing, passwords, statistics and general posture along with an overview of the threat landscape etc
• Identify problematic systems/issues and propose and implement strategic
