Overview: 
Are you looking to break in to the world of cyber security? 
Join Melius Cyber as an IT and Cyber Security Support Apprentice, where you’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding our clients against digital threats.

Key Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to:]

  • Engaging with clients in a supportive and responsive manner, providing light touch customer interaction to address their cybersecurity concerns.
  • Handling incoming calls with skill, swiftly triaging and prioritising cybersecurity issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Conducting basic analysis to identify and assess potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities, employing a keen eye for detail.
  • Driving the delivery of cyber essential questionnaires, evaluating, and enhancing clients’ cybersecurity postures.
  • Checking and verifying critical/high vulnerability alerts, issuing comprehensive reports to clients while ensuring the accuracy of the results.
  • Undertaking 1st and 2nd line support duties, offering technical expertise and assistance in dealing with incoming service and help requests.
  • Diving into the world of cybersecurity testing with elements of penetration testing, contributing to the strengthening of our client’s digital landscapes.
  • Analysing and optimizing policies and processes, utilising templates to bolster cybersecurity frameworks.

What’s important to us? 
Technical skills: 

  • Genuine interest in computing, cybersecurity, and networking 
  • Basic knowledge of scripting and web related technologies e.g. HTML, CSS 
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms 

Personal attributes:

  • Strong communication skills – comfortable with providing support and engaging with customers 
  • An interest in the organisation and the market we work in 
  • Aptitude for learning 
  • Passion for career development 
  • “Get up and go” attitude 
  • Attention to detail 

Entry requirements: 

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
