Job Title: Intervention Teaching Assistant

Location: South Liverpool Primary School

As part of our dedication to ensuring the academic progress and well-being of all students, we are seeking an Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our team.

Job Description: We are looking for a motivated and skilled Intervention Teaching Assistant to work across different year groups within our primary school. This role will involve providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance to reach their academic potential. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping students overcome learning barriers and achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with classroom teachers to identify students in need of intervention support and develop targeted intervention plans.
  • Deliver small group or one-to-one intervention sessions to support students' literacy, numeracy, or social-emotional development.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students across different year groups.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress during intervention sessions, providing regular feedback to teachers and tracking outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to intervention support.
  • Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and student progress to inform future planning and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of primary curriculum standards and strategies for supporting students' academic progress.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from different year groups and adapt intervention strategies to meet their specific needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting students' learning and well-being.
  • Flexibility to work across different year groups and collaborate with a range of teaching staff.
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo a check prior to employment.
