Job Title: Intervention Teaching Assistant

Position Type: Full-Time

Role Overview: As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic progress of our students. Your main responsibilities will involve conducting small group and one-on-one intervention sessions with students across different year groups. These interventions will be tailored to meet the specific learning needs of each student, focusing on areas where additional support is required to enhance their understanding and attainment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective small group intervention sessions in collaboration with class teachers.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, addressing individual learning needs and reinforcing key concepts.
  • Implement intervention strategies and resources designed to support students' academic progress.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting intervention plans as necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to identify students requiring intervention and develop appropriate support plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and student progress to inform future planning and evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role within a primary school setting is highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of primary education curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt intervention strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the academic development of young learners.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
