We have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Internal Communications Business Partner on an 8 month fixed term contract.


The purpose of the role is to work with the Head of Internal Communications and Culture to deliver expert strategic and tactical internal communications to the business. To support the business generally, and identified departments specifically to deliver their goals, in particular supporting Business Stream and Department heads to translate corporate strategy, and develop internal communications plans and messaging to deliver that strategy.
As Business Partner you will sit on the leadership team for the business area you support; acting as a key voice in the room to help connect dots to wider business strategy; constructively challenging to help drive important conversations forward; and acting as a trusted advisor.

What you'll be doing:
* Support the Head of Internal Communications in the development & delivery of the AW Anglian Water Internal Communications strategy and plan across the whole of AW
* Build strong relationships with the Senior Leadership Team of the business area you represent, acting as a trusted advisor - able to challenge where appropriate to drive the right outcomes, and helping join the dots to wider Purpose, strategy and performance.
* Support leaders & Front Line Managers (FLMs), providing guidance, messaging, direction and support in implementing best practice internal communications within their teams
* Translate Anglian Water's purpose, values and strategic goals into engaging and aligned local communications and engagement activity which drive business performance goals and make a real difference to outcomes for the business.??
* Ensure customer-centricity is embedded across all business areas, not just the area you partner - driving Make Today Great behaviours and actions that support business performance.
* Advise on appropriate tactics and channels, developing and implementing new channels where appropriate.
* Take the lead in improving communications capability across the business through department-specific training initiatives, and consultancy.
* Build brand advocacy with employees, helping them tell the Anglian Water story in their communities.
* Support the Group Head of Corporate and Investor Communication to prepare compelling strategic content as needed.
* Support the corporate affairs team as required during incidents, events and projects, including in disciplines other than Internal Communications.

What does it take to be successful?

* Proven ability to operate at a strategic level and build strong relationships with the senior management team of the business
* Previous experience delivering communications strategies for customer centric teams.
* Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, presentational - essential
* Strong project management skills, balancing priorities and working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent attention to detail
* Drive, ambition and proactive approach, Always Exploring to find fresh ways to engage our people in our key messages
* Confident enough to challenge and push back when required
* Team player and strong collaborator
