Business Support

  • Ensure the day-to-day delivery of financial activities within the organisation, adhering to policies and procedures to meet set targets and key performance indicators.
  • Utilize professional expertise to diagnose and resolve financial issues within the business.

Advice and Information

  • Partner with relevant business areas, providing professional financial advice and technical expertise to support effective decision-making.
  • Use specialist knowledge to diagnose and resolve technical financial issues.

Data Management, Analysis and Reporting

  • Extract complex data from multiple sources, ensure data integrity, and produce reports for management decision-making.

Policy, Process and Systems

  • Support the development of financial policies, processes, and systems aligned with strategic business objectives.

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders to share best practices and influence decision-making.

Project Management

  • Represent the financial team on projects, providing technical support or managing complex project work streams.

Financial Management

  • Manage financial resources within assigned budgets, ensuring effective use of funds.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Apply business processes compliant with relevant legislation and regulations to protect organizational interests.

Supplier Management

  • Support day-to-day relationships with service providers, ensuring adherence to standards and best outcomes.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other specialists to deliver solutions that benefit the organization.

Key Deliverables

  • Support effective accounting services, including expenditure control and financial reporting.
  • Produce financial monitoring reports and expenditure information within agreed standards.
  • Maintain financial systems, processes, and budget frameworks.
  • Provide financial decision-making support to directorates.

Compulsory Outputs (COs)

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and legislation.
  • Conduct duties professionally and adapt to organizational needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • Accounting Qualification or Part Qualified (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
  • Experience in financial management within customer-focused or public sector organizations.
  • Understanding of public sector finance and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and up-to-date knowledge of financial standards and practices.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable guidance.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, reporting mechanisms, and data analysis.
