Here at Coleg Cambria we are looking for a Instructor Demonstrator to join our Engineering team, this role will be based at our Deeside site.
Overview of Role
The main purpose of the Instructor/Demonstrator role is to deliver practical sessions to students. You will do this by supervising and instructing students within the practical aspect of the Motor vehicle programme, within the workshop environment. This post would be ideal for someone who has a background as a vehicle mechanic/technician, with excellent workshop skills, and would be a great opportunity for you to pass on your knowledge and expertise to the next generation.
In your new role, you will be required to deliver formal scheduled practical instruction and demonstrations direct to student groups for which the post holder has responsibility. You will also be required to prepare a schedule of practical activities, from information given to you by the course co-ordinators and Lecturers.
Providing support to Lecturers by tracking and assessing students' progress, you will help maintain student portfolios to the required standard for their qualification and provide feedback and guidance to support and reinforce their learning. In addition to this, you will prepare materials, tools and equipment, workplaces and workstations and ensure that agreed Health & Safety and environmental practices are implemented and adhered to.
- Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in a relevant subject area
- Recent industrial experience
- Able to assess learners in a practical environment
- Self confident and displays energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment
- Able to establish effective working relationships and is a strong team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other ICT packages
