Ink Chemist

Pyramid Consultancy are recruiting on behalf of their client a manufacturer of print focussed consumables that are seeking a Chemist due to expansion within the business.

You must have experience of and be able to demonstrate

  • Scientific background and hands-on experience in inkjet ink-formulation, organic colorants chemistry or nano-particle stabilization.

  • Experience in developing water based inkjet inks, initiate and drive the development of water based inkjet inks from start to completion with at least one of the print-heads for industrial ij-printing from a key player.

  • Experience in conducting experiments to evaluate the optimal formulations for inkjet inks and establish robust process conditions for product manufacturing.

  • Technical expertise in chemical product development, ideally water-based inkjet.

  • Basic understanding of the relationships between formulation, manufacturing process, and device design for the performance, quality, and stability of water based inkjet inks.

  • Experience in statistical experimental design and data analysis including Design of Experiments (DoE).

Duties will include

  • Develop the inkjet-ink for jetting trials on production scale print equipment

  • Chemical and chemical-physical and physical measurements

  • Autonomous determination of physical-chemical parameters of inks

  • Initiation, handling, support and maintenance of all analytical instruments in the laboratory

  • Preparation of work instructions for all analytical instruments in the laboratory

  • Autonomous experiment design and planning, performance, evaluation and documentation

  • Improvement of analytical methods and analysis of malfunction of inks

  • Preparation of experimental inks

  • QC activities if required by supervisor

  • Functional guidance of co-workers in the laboratory and production during project work

  • Compliance with super ordinate instructions and technical guidelines

  • Maintenance of cleanliness and order within the laboratory

  • Willingness to take over special tasks and representations if required by supervisor

  • Willingness to work overtime if required and to work abroad if required
