Information Services Officer - FTC (12 months)

Location: Southampton
Discipline: Business Support

We're hiring a part-time (Monday-Thursday) Information Services Officer (FTC - 12 months) to contribute to our accurate and efficient legal and business information service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling enquiries, delivering legal and business research to fee earners and staff.
  • Contributing to a current awareness service by monitoring newspapers, legal journals, and websites.
  • Cataloguing and maintaining collections.
  • Assisting in training users on electronic research sources.
  • Managing administrative tasks like loose-leafing.
  • Providing support for Information Services and firm-wide projects.

Skills / Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Minimum two years' experience in a legal library role.
  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in Information and Library Management or Information Science.
  • Detailed knowledge of LexisLibrary, Practicallaw, Lawtel, and Westlaw.
  • Willingness to travel to other offices as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a professional services environment, ideally a City or large firm.
  • Experience with Manzama or other news aggregators.
