A North London local authority is recruiting for an experienced Information Management Officer for an initial 6 month period.

The Information Management Officer will provide coordinated, specialist advice and support to the council on all areas of information management.As an Information Management Officer, you will be a specialist in information management legislation, working to ensure that the council complies with all information legislation, providing professional advice on information management matters. In particular, the Information Management Officer will support and lead on initiatives to promote good governance and transparency across the council, and lead on the council's response to Freedom of Information (FoI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR).The Information Management Officer will also investigate potential data protection breaches and support training activities for staff, link officers and other groups.

To be considered for this opportunity, knowledge of, and, experience of applying information management legislation (including FoI, EIR and DPA) is essential, as is, the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and using your own initiative.The role would offer someone with a proactive, can-do attitude, the opportunity to bring extensive knowledge of FoI and DPA to the organisation and support activities across the council.

Salary £37,293-£41,898 pro rota
