Individual Giving and Philanthropy Assistant who has strong research and administrative skills, is highly organised with excellent attention to detail, a good team player with a collaborative approach, a confident and considerate communicator, and importantly someone who enjoys building relationships is required to join our team at The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), which is the Army’s national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need.

ENTRY LEVEL CANDIDATES CONSIDERED

We’re on the search for an ambitious self-starter looking to make their first steps in fundraising to join our Individual Giving and Philanthropy Team. We will also consider candidates who already have experience in this field.

SALARY: Starting salary £27,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid / Work from home and the office in Victoria, London (The Charity currently operates a minimum of 2 days per week in the office)

JOB TYPE: Initial 2 Year Fixed-Term, Full-Time Contract

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Individual Giving and Philanthropy Assistant who has strong research and administrative skills, is highly organised with excellent attention to detail, a good team player with a collaborative approach, a confident and considerate communicator, and importantly someone who enjoys building relationships.

Working as the Individual Giving and Philanthropy Assistant you will be focused on supporting Trusts, Major Donors, Individual Giving, and Legacy fundraising and will help the team to identify prospects, nurture existing donors, build relationships with prospective funders, undertake administrative and financial tasks, and ultimately raise income.

As the Individual Giving and Philanthropy Assistant you will be instrumental in generating income to support the Army family and help soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in their time of need. As well as see the difference your work is making through your close working relationship with our Grants and Welfare team, gaining insight into the experiences of our beneficiaries.

DUTIES

Your duties as an Individual Giving and Philanthropy Assistant will include:

  • To assist the three IG&P Managers with their fundraising programmes
  • Provide back up and cover for Individual Giving & Support Care & Support Care Assistant and other Fundraising Assistants within the Fundraising department
  • Handle Support queries over the phone, on email and in person at events and ensure any actions are noted on Raisers Edge database
  • Research, collate and maintain information about all areas of Individual Giving & Philanthropy

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Able to act with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality and deal with sensitive issues
  • Ability and experience of using databases and similar systems
  • An approach to mirror our values
  • Willingness to travel across the UK as required
