Import Clerk | Trainee Freight Forwarder | Trainee Shipping Clerk
Are you looking to start and/or progress a career in shipping / logistics? Our client is a leading global freight forwarder that manages the supply chain & shipping requirements for household brands. Due to on-going expansion & new business, our client is currently looking to recruit an Import Customer Service Coordinator in there Southampton offices.
You will be responsible for managing the import Customs process of cargo into the UK for a select number of key accounts, ensuring that all cargo is entered into the system correctly & that Customs & Excise clear the cargo for removal from port to the warehouse / distribution centre and at the end of each month you will be responsible for collating all data & documentation and declaring to Customs, ensuring payment of all duties & VAT are made.
- Exposure to the shipping, freight forwarding & logistics industry, gaining a basic understanding

About the Company:
This is a position with a leading global freight forwarder managing the supply chain & shipping requirements for major key accounts including high street fashion & retailer brands. You will be part of an energetic and face paced team in Southampton where they provide excellent training, You will gain experience dealing with shipping documentation, customs compliance/procedures, monitoring shipments & arranging for final delivery. There are 2 positions are available!
Salary & Benefits:
Our client is offering between £16-18k for the right person.
