An international freight forwarding company is looking for an experienced import clerk to join their busy team in West Drayton. This role may require overtime and some weekend hours.

Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £26k - £30k depending on experience
Location: West Drayton, London (office-based role)
Hours: Mon - Fri 9:00 - 17:30 sometimes overtime or weekend work (will be paid)

The Role
The import clerk will be responsible for dealing with customers to maintain/develop business. And liaise with all the parties concerned to expedite shipments smoothly

Responsibilities

• Liaise with customers on any mandatory information required for handling their freight
• communicate with staff in the operation departments to arrange shipments and maintain regular contact with customers to identify their operational needs
• Reply adequately to enquiries from customers by phone calls, emails or in other forms
• Deal with customers complaints, provide appropriate solutions and follow ups and communicate internally to improve service quality
• Provide ad-hoc assistance
• Ad-hoc support to Line Managers
  

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working in the import/export industry
• Flexible working attitude
• Hard-working individual with good communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft packages
