ICT Project Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen with West Suffolk Councils’ to become an ICT Project Officer. You will join our ICT Team based in both Bury St Edmunds and Mildenhall on a full time, temporary (up to 18 months) basis and will receive a competitive salary of £30,785 - £31,601 per annum depending on qualifications/experience (potentially rising to £36,379 through annual Performance Review awards).
St. Edmundsbury Borough Council and Forest Heath District Council are two authorities with a reputation for being forward thinking and innovative. By sharing services under the title of West Suffolk they are taking an increased commercial approach to changes in the public sector environment and have a wide range of exciting initiatives underway. Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council are merging to become West Suffolk Council in April 2019.
The ICT Project Officer role:
As our ICT Project Officer you coordinate the ICT Workstreams as part of the wider Single Council Project working closely with the Single Council Programme Manager. The post holder will also (through liaison with the ICT Service Manager and Business Support Manager) ensure that the councils’ transformation programme and other business as usual tasks continue to function normally. This role will assist with effective prioritisation of Technical, Operational and ICT Service Governance tasks across all service areas underpinning Business as Usual priorities.
The post holder will be required to work at both Councils’ premises at West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds, and the Forest Heath District Council Offices, Mildenhall.
Our ideal ICT Project Officer:
This is a varied and challenging role and we are looking for a strong team player who can make an immediate impact, with excellent customer facing skills and a desire to be part of an ambitious forward thinking team. Additionally, we are looking for someone with proven project management and governance experience, of working collaboratively in a matrix management delivery environment and experience of working with suppliers, technical teams and end users.
You will need to be highly self-motivated and have the ability to absorb and communicate new ideas and concepts quickly and prioritise effectively.
