We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join a well-established and successful construction materials testing company. Our client works collaboratively with clients throughout the whole project lifecycle, offering comprehensive and bespoke construction testing service packages.

Hours: 40-hour week

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement, and promote practical and effective methods of health and safety practices in the workplace
  • Support the business with accident and incident management as and when required by recording, reporting and investigating into all accidents, identify trends and provide advice to management to avoid escalations
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
  • To assist in development of appropriate method statements and construction phase plans
  • To recommend and advise on first aid and fire safety representatives for all sites
  • To recommend and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring thorough documentation and recommending corrective actions.
  • Liaise with and provide support to all areas of the business to eliminate, mitigate or reduce identified HSE exposures.
  • Monitor and review competencies of staff, reviewing equipment against PUWER for its suitability and effectiveness for the processes in which it is used for

Education

  • Professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, NCRQ, NEBOSH
  • IRCA Internal Auditor
  • Knowledge and experience of construction and/or materials testing related activities, risks and hazards gained over a 3-year period.
  • Demonstratable experience in environmental compliance and sustainability
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards and best practise.
