Barnet Carers Centre have an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join their growing team based in London.

Job Title: HR Assistant

Location: London

Salary: £20,085 pro rata (actual salary £14,997)

Hours: 28 hrs per week - Monday to Thursday (with flexibility if required)

Barnet Carers Centre is seeking to recruit a hardworking and experienced HR Assistant to help provide a comprehensive and efficient HR support service to the teams.

HR Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

- Lead (and support) with the complete end to end recruitment drive including producing all relevant pre and post recruitment paperwork/checks ensuring liaison with both the Senior management Team and own team members on any vacancies arising as required as well as updating and reviewed any documents related to recruitment

- Work together with the Community and Home Support Service (CHSS) to both market vacancies and carry out the regular recruitment drives for Personal Care Assistants (PCAs)

- Both maintain and create working relationships with recruitment outlets sourcing cost effective methods on an ongoing basis

- To carry out HR related inductions for new Centre staff and to contribute to the inductions for Personal Care Assistants, Play leaders and Play workers as required

- To carry out any adhoc HR related tasks delegated by the HR Manager

- To maintain filing systems (current and archive) as well as central recording systems and filing systems for all staff such as annual leave, sickness/Return to work, performance management records and return of documentation ensuring both accuracy and completion within a set timeframe

- Prepare information and reports to help HR Manager to provide analysis at meetings

- Quarterly review and update of Centre Handbook and Know How Guide working with HR Manager to keep HR electronic files updated

- To undertake administrative tasks such as typing, filing, photocopying, telephone calls and research on behalf of the HR Manager

- Respond to both internal and external routine enquiries

- Work with the HR Manager to source and maintain a cost effective and efficient HR database

- Support the HR Manager to eventually roll out the new system to staff, monitor results and provide evaluation

- To work alongside HR Manager and SMT to review the staff training and development policy gathering information and implementing any action points discussed

- To assist HR Manager to draft and send out annual staff survey questionnaire and collate results thereafter

- To work with HR Manager to review the current Learning and Development strategy within BCC

- To support the HR Manager with any staff engagement initiatives

- To participate in weekly team meetings, regular 1-1 meetings and work reviews (including supervisions and appraisals) and department reviews

HR Assistant - Qualifications/Education, Knowledge & Experience:

- HR/CIPD qualification/Secretarial qualification (desirable)

- Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook

- English language

- At least 1 years working within an administrative capacity (1 year in HR is desirable)

- Good oral and written communication skills and fully IT literate

- Able to work on own initiative appropriately and follow through a task thinking laterally and effectively working in a fast paced and changing environment

- Strong analytical, administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and tasks, meet deadlines, have an eye for detail and solve problems

- Ability to work alone and to work confidently and sensitively with a wide range of people maintaining professional positive working relationships at all levels

- Understands need for accurate and timely information

- Dependable, reliable, supportive and trustworthy as well as resilient under pressure

- Well presented, confident and well spoken

- Self-motivated with a flexible approach to the role

- A commitment to adhere to the organisation’s policies and procedures

- Ability and willingness to occasionally work outside usual working hours

- Willingness to volunteer time for adhoc and regular fundraising initiatives during the year (desirable)
