We are working with a well-established education business, and they are looking for an experienced HR Advisor / HR Officer to join the business ASAP.

This is an office-based role Monday - Friday.

The role is focused on supporting the business with HR advisory services, ER, leading on recruitment and assisting on various HR projects. They are looking for candidates from a generalist HR background, who holds strong advisory / ER experience and can build relationships with stakeholders. The role is 60% ER / Advisory and 40% leading on recruitment, along with supporting on HR projects

Reporting into the HR Manager and working as part of a team of 6 people, the role would be ideal for an experienced HR Advisor, HR Officer, or HR Generalist who is looking to join an established HR team. The focus of the role is to support the HR Manager with all aspects of generalist HR and be the main point of contact for escalated operational and advisory HR areas. etc. Key duties will include;

  • Working as part of a busy HR team of 6 people reporting into the HR Manager, providing HR support to c400 employees
  • Generalist HR role focusing on supporting with ER caseload and HR advice (60% of the role) and leading on recruitment (40%).
  • Managing a caseload of ER, support managers with all areas of Employee Relations, including managing absence and sickness, capability, disciplinary, grievances, and day to day ER matters
  • Provide support to managers on performance, including manage and administer probationary periods and annual appraisals.
  • Be the point of contact to stakeholders and provide HR advice and guidance across all areas of generalist HR.
  • Support and advise on HR policies, procedures, and HR best practice, ensuring HR matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with UK Employment law and Company requirements
  • Manage and lead on recruitment (with the support of a recruitment and HR administrator), including writing job adverts, supporting with JD preparation, interviewing etc
  • Managing recruitment agency relationships, leading on putting together PSL’s, negotiating on rates, building relationships etc
  • Looking at candidate attraction initiatives, such as organising recruitment campaigns and recruitment events
  • Support the HR Manager with HR projects, such as employee wellbeing, appraisal tracking and implementation of new HR and recruitment systems.

For this role candidates will need to have proven HR experience at this level and ideally hold or be studying towards CIPD qualification. Education experience would be advantageous, although all industries will be considered.

This is a great role to support the HR Manager and they are looking for candidates who have strong ER / Advisory experience, along with generalist HR and strong recruitment experience. There is scope to take on more responsibility and be involved with HR projects and other aspects of HR.
