HR Adviser/ Officer

Post holder is a point of contact for day-to-day HR activity alongside the HR Coordinator. Support the HR Business Partner to drive consistency and best HR practice throughout the business. Assist in the effective management and development of SLUK employees and the HR function within the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Work closely with all department functions, assist departmental managers to understand and implement policies and procedures and manage people-related issues effectively, consistently and fairly;
* Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
* Interpret and advise on employment legislation;
* Assist in the development of a performance driven culture;
* Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation;
* Monitor and develop policies and procedures in accordance with employment law and best practice;
* Liaise with Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence team to assist in recruitment process for permanent and temporary staff. Have input with hiring Managers to develop job descriptions, person specifications;
* Help to co-ordinate investigations in event of employee complaints or concerns;
* Advise and accompany managers and Team Leads during the steps in the Absence Management, Disciplinary, Capability and Grievance processes - and associated accurate documentation of these interactions.
* Undertaking projects/research as and when required
* Support transfer of viable transactional tasks out of the department to the HRSD function. In the meantime, during this transitional period - Administer and maintain personnel records, payroll, benefits, time & attendance system and reporting requirements in conjunction with HR Coordinator;
* Produce offer letters, key person agreements, contracts, new starter packs,
* Provide support for other MT organisations and group HR function
* Any other reasonable duties as directed by the HR Business Partner

Key Experience

* CIPD level 3 minimum
* Microsoft Office suite (highly proficient in Excel)
* SAP/HCM
* HR Systems: Inc. Time & Attendance
* Experience of working in a unionised manufacturing environment
* Able to handle a number of different cases at the same time
* Experience supporting and coaching managers around employee relations
