Posted 8 March by Sopra Steria Easy Apply Ended

Salary: Circa £35K pro rata + 5% flexible benefits fund

Location: Hemel Hempstead

As an HR Advisor (HRA) you will be required to ensure that, within your defined business areas, the HR operational service is being delivered to required standards.

This particular vacancy has a specific Talent Management project which is likely to take around a third of your time. For this project, which involves direct contact with the HR Director, you will be required to maintain Talent Management records (currently in an Excel Workbook, but this may move to a bespoke system in 2018), produce a Slide Pack for the Senior Management Team on a monthly basis, and co-ordinate regular calls with key stakeholders to ensure that data is up-to-date and accurate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with any escalated calls from employees which the call handlers within the HR Helpdesk are unable to close without support. The SHRA is not expected to take responsibility for the call resolution or to contact the employee directly; they are required merely to provide the appropriate support to enable the call handlers to close the call

  • Managing the initial stages of any disciplinary or grievance matters to ensure that the matter is dealt with in accordance with, and in the timescales required by, Company policy. This will include providing support to the manager who is dealing with the disciplinary or grievance (support may be restricted to telephone or face to face coaching in advance of the meeting and is not intended to be "de facto" attendance at all meetings)

  • Managing any long term or persistent short term absence issues which require HR support. This may include the co-ordination of occupational health intervention and engagement with our PHI provider, where applicable

  • Delivery of workshops on specific subject areas where need is identified by the HRBP, representatives of the management community, or the HRA themselves. These could include, but are not restricted to, absence management, flexible benefits, performance management (PDI), managing migrant workers, managing disciplinary and grievance situations

  • Providing support to the HR Management Team for specific HR projects. This may include, but is not restricted to, redundancy programmes (including auditing of exit costs), small TUPE situations which are not being managed by the ER & TUPE team or implementation of corporate HR projects (Annual Salary Review, Career Framework (Job Family Alignment) rollout and the annual PDI cycle would be examples of this type of project)

  • Handholding of promotion cases, particularly where harmonisation of terms is involved

  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders on a regular basis

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • CIPD qualified
