Douglas Scott are working with a National law firm who have an office in central Manchester on an exciting opportunity to recruit a Housing Disrepair Solicitor/Fee Earner who has 12 months+ experience, ideally handling Pre & Post Litigated files. My client is a commercial firm based in based in central Manchester, close by to fantastic transport links. My client is a well respected legal 500 firm, and they are in the market for an experienced Solicitor/Fee Earner who is looking for a new challenge and has experience within Housing Disrepair files. Reporting to the HDR Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with them on the increased work that has recently been secured to come into the firm.

The ideal candidate must have managed their own caseload for at least 12 months to be able to handle a caseload of Housing Disrepair claims. Ideally the candidate will have experience in pre-litigated and litigated files

Duties;
  • Managing caseload of Housing Disrepair matters but with an opportunity to assist on other key projects
  • Handling smaller matters with autonomy, while assisting on larger cases
  • Drafting letters and preparing file notes
  • Drafting legal documents such as witness statements
  • Preparation for and attendance at court hearings
  • Legal research
  • Liaising with clients, other parties and the court
  • Proofreading and checking documents for quality / consistency
  • Assisting with marketing initiatives  
About You
  • Experienced HDR Fee Earner/Solicitor
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Organised with effective time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
  • Good communication skills
  • Commercially aware
  • Confident with Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • Goal orientated with a strong desire to improve and succeed
