Our client is an assistance dog charity which transforms the lives of disabled people through partnership with their specially trained assistance dogs. The have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Housekeeping to join their Operations department based at their site in Osgathorpe, Leicestershire.

About the role:
You will be responsible for the delivery and management of all aspects of the housekeeping function, including catering and caring for clients and their guests and cleaning of residential facilities. You will also prepare, cook and serve meals to applicants and their escorts attending training courses and applicant assessment days. Key to this role is the ability to welcome their clients, carers and other guests and make them feel at home during their on-site stay, in line with their charity value of the “personal touch”.
In this active and practical role you will be responsible for the management and the preparation and cooking of meals from scratch, cleaning and laundry requirements of 6 en-suite chalets during training courses and applicant assessment days, managing the housekeeping staff providing clear direction and guidelines, motivation and inspiration, management of all care requirements/carers booking and planning menus and stocks of food.
You will have the ability to undertake some heavy / strenuous duties (e.g. cleaning the chalets). You will be able to communicate at all levels with a wide range of people and be able to prepare and cook wholesome meals.
Ideally you will have a basic food hygiene certificate and knowledge of special dietary needs. You must be self-organised and customer focussed with great attention to detail and the ability listen, empathise and make Partners, applicants and guests feel at ease.
