Position Overview: We are currently seeking a passionate and empathetic Homeless Intervention Team Family Support Worker to join our team in Worcester. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting families experiencing homelessness, providing advocacy, guidance, and practical assistance to help them navigate challenges and access essential resources. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting families in crisis, advocating for their needs, and facilitating their journey towards stable housing and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to families experiencing homelessness, conducting assessments to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans.
  • Offer practical assistance and guidance to families in accessing emergency accommodation, housing support services, financial assistance, and other essential resources.
  • Act as a liaison between families and external agencies, advocating for their needs and coordinating referrals to relevant support services and community resources.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to families facing challenging circumstances, including eviction, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health issues.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Homeless Intervention Team to develop and implement holistic support strategies for families, addressing their immediate needs while working towards long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
