Role requires to assist with the co-ordination and day-to-day running of the home encouraging tenants to live independently.

Responsibilities for this role:
To encourage as much involvement, independence and choice as possible, so as to help people to live as normal a life as possible in their own homes in a homely environment in the community.
To encourage, establish and maintain relationships with tenants to compliment and contribute to their own care so as to create a pleasant environment in which to live and develop.
To participate, encourage and involve individuals in the preparation of meals, taking into consideration personal needs/beliefs and choices, encouraging a healthy, balance diet.
To organise and implement a programme of activities suitable to the individual needs.
To assist where necessary in all aspects of personal hygiene, e.g. toileting, washing, bathing, where necessary taking into consideration individual choice, to ensure high standards of personal hygiene at all times.
To respect the rights to personal choice, dignity, self respect, independence and privacy etc.
To encourage use of local community facilities by the clients therefore having a flexible approach to the needs of the clients e.g. shopping, social events, personal time.
To record and assist in the ongoing assessment of individual need, within a developmental responsive approach.
To help tenants maximise their benefits entitlement from both the DSS and Housing Benefit.
To maintain a record of all payments made on behalf of the tenants, to County Hall from the household budget, to Housing Associations, and to the tenants themselves, etc.
To keep a daily record of any intervention.
