Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Runcorn, United Kingdom

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Runcorn. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with Key Stage 4 students, providing both intervention sessions and classroom support. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and personal development of students within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions to small groups of KS4 students.
  • Providing classroom support to teachers during lessons, ensuring the needs of all students are met.
  • Developing and implementing engaging activities to promote student learning and engagement.
  • Building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Supporting students with behaviour management and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborating with the wider team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with KS4 students, preferably within a PRU or similar setting.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A proactive and dynamic approach to supporting student learning.
  • Resilience and patience when working with challenging behaviours.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
