The Job:
  • Deliver exceptional technical advice on building services engineering within the historic built environment, influencing national grants, statutory consents, and Heritage at Risk projects.
  • Lead as the intelligent client for building services on varied projects, driving the integration of low and zero carbon technologies.
  • Author technical notes and web-based guidance, and share your knowledge through engaging presentations and webinars.
  • Explore new income generation avenues while fostering  evidence-based technical policy and standards.
  • Spearhead research to identify innovative engineering solutions, setting academic and professional benchmarks in building services engineering.
  • Elevate Historic England's status as a centre of knowledge, incorporating cutting-edge approaches in building services engineering.

  • Qualified Building Services Engineer with a wealth of experience in historical settings (Chartership required)
  • Adept at problem-solving within heritage constraints
  • Proven ability in research, policy formation, and the promotion of best practices in heritage conservation.
  • Committed to compliance management, including health & safety, equality & diversity, and financial stewardship.
  • Represent the company on external committees and in public forums, advocating for the significance of building services engineering in historic environments.
