Principal Engineer Wanted for Dynamic Infrastructure Management Team

About the Role: As our Principal Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in managing our Highway and Transport services discreetly across both boroughs. You'll provide expert advice, lead sustainable transport strategies, and ensure the seamless execution of projects. Whether it's engaging with stakeholders or managing intricate design and delivery processes, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our infrastructure landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned projects from conception to implementation, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate work programmes and schedules, providing technical guidance as needed.
  • Develop and implement measures to enhance our Highway and Transport network.
  • Oversee contract management and administration with consultants and contractors.
  • Provide technical advice on relevant matters and stay updated on industry developments.
  • Prepare budget estimates and manage expenditure effectively.
  • Act as a liaison with various stakeholders and represent our team at meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and best practices.

Key Competencies:

  • Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong IT proficiency and a drive for digitization.
  • Political awareness and ability to work with elected members.
  • Financial management experience with large budgets.
  • Contract management expertise, preferably with NEC contracts.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to engage with diverse audiences.
