Day-to-day of the role:

• Support teachers in the classroom by managing resources and assisting with lesson delivery.
• Work directly with children either one-on-one or in small groups to enhance their learning and social skills.
• Manage heightened behaviours, ensuring safety and providing consistent, non-judgmental support.
• Engage in a variety of activities with the children, including educational trips, social lunch settings, board games, science experiments, and creating displays.
• Celebrate student successes and participate in therapy sessions or reflective discussions on challenging periods.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience working with SEN in a similar or transferable role.
• Resilience, persistence, and a solution-focused attitude.
• Ability to wear many hats and adapt quickly to changing situations.
• Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
• Strong commitment to enhancing the educational and social development of children with special needs.
