HGV Waste Collection Driver
£14.03 Per hour + Overtime
Temp to Perm

Pertemps are on the lookout for an experienced Class 2 Driver to join our client based in Newport on the Isle of Wight. This role is a temporary on-going assignment with a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The normal working hours would be Monday to Friday 06:30am – 15:30pm, but there is potential overtime available.

Your main duties would be:
- Collecting refuse and recycling from locations across the Island and dispose of them at the appropriate collection site.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks.
- Drive the routes that will be provided each morning.
- Operating the compaction controls when needed.
- Using the in-cab devices.
- Assisting in the loading responsibilities when required.
- Ensuring that paperwork is fully completed when liaising with supervisors.
- Being compliant with Health and Safety requirements.

The right candidate with have:
- At least 1 year’s commercial driving experience.
- A valid DQC/CPC card.
- A valid Digital Tacho Card.
- A Cat C Full UK Driving License.
- No more than 6 points on your license.

Ideal attributes:
- Previous customer service experience.
- Excellent knowledge of the Isle of Wight.
- Health and Safety knowledge.
- Computer literate.
