HGV Class 1 Shunters Wanted In BURTON LATIMER! 

Logistics People are looking for HGV Shunters/HGV Class 1 Shunters/LGV Shunters/LGV Class 1 Shunters working on a Full time Equivalent (FTE) basis at our Stobarts Burton Latimer depot.

Location: Burton Latimer

Working Hours: Wed-Sun / Thurs-Mon / Thurs-Sun Shifts Available with an 18:00 start time

Pay rates:

  • Weekday           £16.26 P/hr 
  • Weeknight         £17.38 P/hr 
  • Weekend AM.     £20.18 P/hr 
  • Weekend PM     £20.74 P/hr 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner within the premises
  • Manoeuvre vehicles into loading and unloading bays according to schedules
  • Perform pre-operational checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and drivers to coordinate movement of goods
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately and promptly
  • Assist with general yard duties and maintenance tasks as required

About You

  • You should hold a valid HGV 1/C+E Licence and have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience. 
  • No more than 6 points no DD/ DR Code convictions
  • Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards
  • Previous experience as a shunter or in a similar role is preferred
  • Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
  • Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
