HGV Class 2 Driver – Banbury – £15.00–£16.00 Per Hour – New Passes Welcome

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our client's growing transport operation based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, covering the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £15.00–£16.00 per hour, four guaranteed working days, an optional fifth shift, full training and immediate starts. Both experienced and newly qualified HGV Class 2 Drivers are welcome to apply.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Rigid HGV Driver or Multi-Drop Delivery Driver. Newly qualified drivers are also encouraged to apply.

Shifts

• Four guaranteed working days per week
• Optional fifth shift available
• Start times between 04:00 and 05:00
• Approximately 10-hour shifts

Rates of Pay

• £15.00–£16.00 per hour
• Weekly PAYE pay
• Holiday pay accrued separately

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:

• Operating Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
• Delivering food products to customers
• Completing multi-drop deliveries with a Driver's Mate
• Loading and unloading goods safely and accurately
• Carrying out manual handling duties where required
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects to management
• Adhering to road traffic laws and transport regulations
• Maintaining accurate delivery records and paperwork
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams, customers and site staff
• Providing a professional and reliable delivery service

Essential Skills

• Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Newly qualified HGV Class 2 Drivers welcome
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsements, including IN, DR, DD or CD codes
• Reliable, professional and punctual
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Understanding of road safety and transport compliance
• Ability to work alongside a Driver's Mate on multi-drop deliveries
• Comfortable with manual handling and unloading duties

Desirable Experience

• Previous commercial or multi-drop delivery experience
• Experience handling large or bulky goods
• Previous customer-facing delivery experience

Training Provided

• Full industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
