The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Healthcare Planning Manager to provide and manage an efficient and effective healthcare planning function for capital projects encompassing strategic planning, project management and drawing office management.
Candidates must have significant experience at a senior level in a complex provider organisation, demonstrate a strong track record of working with multiple stakeholders (including external) and have operational knowledge of clinical departments and relationships between specialties.
The key aspect of the role is to provide a lead in detailed medical planning working with clinical users and design teams to produce briefs and plans for clinical accommodation. The healthcare planning function is a critical to the successful delivery of the Estates Strategy that underpins the organisations clinical strategy. The input to internal and external business case provision is pivotal, especially knowledge and experience of the green book 5 case model.
The role encompasses the management and oversight of the in-house AutoCAD function and the Trusts record drawing database. This is inclusive of Space Utilisation software packages and record information to support operational teams in statutory and mandatory compliance.
Candidates should have the ability to demonstrate the achievement of ambitious targets and implement innovative solutions within financial constraints. Negotiation with Specialty Managers, Clinical Directors and Heads of Departments to agree the content of the design of departments subject to re-provision projects at all NUTH properties is fundamental to the role.
Educated to Master’s level (or equivalent healthcare experience) and Chartered membership of a recognised professional body (RICS, CIOB), you will demonstrate a proven track record of scheme delivery within or without the NHS. The successful candidates will form part of a multi-disciplinary Capital & Planning team, reporting into the Head of Strategy, Planning and Capital Development.
