Galahad Cade has been engaged by a leading building contractor to appoint a Health & Safety Manager who will be responsible for all Health & Safety matters affecting the business. With a history dating back nearly 70 years, the company has established a reputation synonymous with delivering high quality projects on time, within budget and to specification, whilst maintaining the highest level of safety.
In this role, you will work on a variety of exciting projects ranging from major refurbishment works to mixed use developments predominantly within London.
*Provide support and expert advice on all Health & Safety related matters affecting the business
*Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve Health & Safety performance
*Leading on Health & Safety, engaging with the workforce across sites and ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation
*Undertaking audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to improve in areas where deficiencies are identified
*Manage an effective incident notification, reporting, escalation and investigation in line with required time scales
*Deliver training and promote a positive Health & Safety culture within the business
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry and be based in London or one of the home counties.
*Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
*Educational qualification and membership of industry recognized professional bodies such as NEBOSH, NCRQ/ IOSH
*Practical knowledge of ISO 18001 & 9001
A salary bracket has not been included in this advert because a competitive level of remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant, depending on their level of experience.
