This post is exempt under the Employment (Sex Discrimination) Act 2000, Section the (s9(2)(f)) Personal welfare and counselling which constitutes a Genuine Occupational Qualifications. The work involves working with service users where there is a risk assessment identifying the need for male support in the provision of aspects of this persons care and support.
The Successful candidate must have a working knowledge of Positive Behavioural Management (PBM) and supporting people with Challenging behaviours. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and have a positive attitude to working with people with learning disabilities, candidates would assist in the provision off both personal and health care contributing to comprehensive plans for each individual
Candidates must also be able to demonstrate commitment to developing their skills. In return the health board will provide support and training and opportunities for professional development. All staff will be offered the opportunity to achieve nationally recognized qualifications developed to meet the training needs of staff working with people with learning Disabilities These posts present challenging opportunities to enhance and further develop the lives of people with a learning disability and challenging behaviour.
