Health and Safety Advisor - Field Based role covering the Midlands & South East of England, stores and distribution areas. Salary £35-40k (dep on exp/quals) + car allowance and many more benefits!Are you a Health & Safety Advisor looking for a new opportunity? Do you have experience in Retail, Logistics or Manufacturing? Do you currently hold a NEBOSH certificate? Working on a full-time basis, you will join a growing, professional, and friendly team, working with colleagues across the business to ensure the company’s highest standard of health and safety are maintained and improved.The Role -

As a Health & Safety Advisor at Bensons for Beds, you will ensure that effective risk assessments and mitigations are in place and reviewed to the company policy, including SOPRA, COSHH, Manual Handing, Noise, DSE and other statutory requirements. As well as this, you will also:

  • Ensuring company systems for reporting and responding to accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses are implemented and embedded.
  • Implementing testing arrangements for emergency response and fire systems
  • Maintaining relevant KPIs and information on Health and Safety matters
  • Liaising with internal management providing advice and guidance.
  • Carrying out internal audits and inspections
  • Ensuring the contractor management process is adhered to
  • Championing a strong safety culture based on everyone going home safe every day
  • Opportunity for development for the right candidate


Skills needed

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Adviser with the following skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:

  • Experience of working within multisite distribution/retail or similar environment preferred
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum
  • Full, clean driving licence as this role will require travel to our various sites
  • Confiedent in challenging behavious as well as leading by example.
  • Excellent communicator with great influencing skills & able to build exceptional working relationships across all levels.
  • Strong administrative and organisation skills as this role will require you to manage your own workload effectively
